Lampert Lumber, a Division of USLBM is Seeking Full or Part-time Yard/Warehouse Operations Summer 2022 Interns for Our Le Mars, IA Location.

Lampert Lumber is a multi-location lumberyard company that has been in business since 1887. We supply top-quality lumber and building materials (cabinets, decking, windows, roofing, and siding) to homeowners and contractors.

We are currently seeking Yard/Warehouse Operations Interns for our 2022 Summer Internship Program! Students with an interest in Operations, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, or general employment opportunities within the lumber and building materials industry or warehouse-related positions are encouraged to apply!


n

This position will give you a wide breadth of experience in the operations of a lumberyard and warehouse, including receiving, stocking, and organizing materials. You will come away with knowledge of managing inventory, safety best practices, equipment operation (including a forklift operator certification), and a comprehensive introduction to the lumber and building materials industry.

How you will spend your days as a Yard/Warehouse Operations Intern:


n

  • n
  • Assist team with receiving incoming warehouse products, commodities, and materials, counting/recording receipt of items, and stocking items in appropriate bins or storage locations.

  • n
  • Assist inventory control in counting and organizing warehouse materials.

  • n
  • Operate a forklift with foot and hand controls. Use forklift to build outgoing orders, and load completed orders onto delivery equipment maintaining safe procedures and stacking methods.

  • n
  • Other duties as assigned by Location Manager.

  • This is 8-12 weeklong, paid, full or part-time summer internship (depending on your availability). You'll have an independent project that you'll present at the end of your internship.

  • Participation in DISC Assessment to determine your work style.

  • Lean Six Sigma White Belt certification.

  • You'll have fun! Attend a Twins game and other events with your intern cohort.

  • Student, at least 18 years old, enrolled in or planning to enroll in a technical, 2-year or 4-year college.

  • Legally able to work in the United States.

  • n
  • Basic math skills - ability to identify and measure commodities and specialty building products.

  • n
  • Comfortable working with computerized inventory systems.

  • n
  • Comfortable with physical demands including standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending/stooping, exposure to extreme temperatures, regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 100 pounds or more.

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.

  • n
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Must have excellent communication and multitasking skills.

Salary:
$13.12 - $19.53Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
